Homestead Exemption Checker

Answer a few simple questions to find out what you need to do.

Not Eligible for Homestead

To qualify for a Homestead Exemption in Oklahoma, the property must be your primary legal residence. Rental properties, commercial properties, and second homes do not qualify.

You need to file!

You must file an application for Homestead Exemption (Form 921) with our office. The deadline is March 15th to apply for the current year.

Once your application is approved, you do not have to re-file each year.

You are likely all set!

Good news! In Oklahoma, you are not required to re-file your standard Homestead Exemption every year.

Your exemption remains active as long as your deed or ownership has not changed.

You may qualify for more savings!

You may be eligible for the Additional Homestead Exemption (also known as the "Senior Freeze"). This freezes the taxable value of your property if you meet certain age and income requirements.

This requires a separate application (Form 994) and you must verify your income with our office.

Thank you!

Based on your answers, you do not appear to qualify for additional senior exemptions at this time.

If you have any questions about other exemptions (like for 100% Disabled Veterans), please contact our office.
